SHARING PERSPECTIVES

During the Sharing Perspectives session, speakers define Sustainable Landscapes from their perspective in the industry, describe the main challenges and obstacles regarding the adoption of sustainable landscapes in Florida at a meaningful scale, share some of their successes, and explain what results they would like to see from this collaborative.

PANEL

LAND DEVELOPMENT

A panel of 3 leading developers share their perspectives on sustainable landscapes and sustainable development. They discuss the obstacles and objections regarding the implementation of sustainable landscapes, the potential benefits and values for the state, economy, and real estate industry, and the key metrics, incentives, or financial drivers which would have the greatest impact on shifting developer behavior.

JEFF VANDERMEER

Jeff VanderMeer, a Florida local for over 30 years, is an award-winning novelist known for his emphasis on environmental themes. During his keynote, Jeff shares with us his journey of rewilding his yard and the lessons he learned along the way. LOCAL GOVERNMENT

A panel of 3 leading local government officials share their personal perspectives on sustainable landscapes. They provide the tools and information necessary for local governments to implement better standards and encourage the use of sustainable practices, the political pitfalls and opportunities of championing sustainable landscapes, and successful experiences.
