Residential Native & Florida Friendly Landscapes at the Villages OUTSIDE Collab 2021

January 2022

From milkweed for monarchs to bee boxes, OUTSIDE Collab shares an inside look at residential native plant landscapes at The Villages. Join Mark Russell, Leader of Sustainability at Cherrylake, and Steve Turnipseed, Senior Consultant at Making Value Flow, as they take us on a tour of the neighborhood.

Steve has spent the last seven years landscaping his yard with native plants that support the ecosystem through pollinators and fruit-bearing trees. Neighboring homes include an assortment of trees, groundcovers, and shrubs. Together, these landscapes create a naturally grown Florida environment which attracts various birds, bees, and butterflies, boosting the ecosystem. With lots of varying sizes, each home we visit displays a broad diversity of Florida native plants and thoughtful landscape designs.
