REDUCING THE FOOTPRINT OF IRRIGATED LANDSCAPES IN FLORIDA'S RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENTS
APRIL 21st | 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM | VIRTUAL
Collaborating with 1000 Friends of Florida, we discussed how residential landscape irrigation was becoming Florida’s single biggest user of potable water. In certain situations, developers had successfully reduced the number and extent of irrigation systems in their projects. This presentation reviewed examples and considered how to facilitate a more widespread shift in Florida’s residential landscaping paradigm by reevaluating financial implications, focusing on soils management, and redeveloping our plant pallet.
